Davy Ho succeeds Baroness Dunn

SWIRE Group chairman Peter Sutch confirmed yesterday the promotion of Davy Ho to the hong's elite inner sanctum as a replacement for Baroness Dunn.

Mr Ho, managing director of Swire Shipping (Agencies), will formally join the Swire Group's private office in the territory on January 1 when the baroness sets off for London to serve on the parent company's main board.

Mr Sutch said: 'With his many years of experience with the Swire Group and his intimate knowledge of the shipping business, Mr Ho will be a very valuable member of the group's most senior management team.' Mr Ho, 48, has been with the Swire Group for 25 years, joining in 1970 as an executive trainee with Swire Shipping.

He was appointed a director of John Swire & Sons (HK) at the beginning of this year.

Mr Ho will have special responsibility for overseeing the group's shipping interests.

Lady Dunn had been responsible for overseeing the group's trading division.
