THE Hever Castle Golf and Country Club in Britain offers Hong Kong investors a property deal guaranteed to provide a yield of 10 per cent a year for 10 years.

But there is a catch. You can hardly ever live there.

On offer are freehold Tudor-style houses on the grounds of the golf course.

The smallest units, measuring 400 square feet, sell for $852,000 and a limited number of larger units are priced at $1.16 million.

Seven of the 28 units are for sale to overseas investors on the condition that they allow the suites to be used virtually all year round as part of the 61-room hotel complex.

'This is not a retirement home or a residential investment opportunity,' said Peter Trinder, international marketing manager at Hever Golf Club, which specialises in leisure activities.
