ORIENT Overseas Container Line (OOCL) will open an office in Brisbane on July
Brisbane is the gateway to the state of Queensland and the north of New South Wales state.
It is an important export market for refrigerated cargo.
'It is important that OOCL provide Queensland shippers with a dedicated customer service and operations centre,' said Wilson Hung, OOCL Australia's general manager.
Brisbane is a direct port of call on OOCL's Far East-Australia service which also serves Kaohsiung, Keelung, Hong Kong, Sydney and Melbourne.
Since November OOCL has been operating a joint service to Australia with ZIM Lines and has a slot exchange arrangement with the Australia Conference consortium.
OOCL will be represented by C Piesse and Co in Adelaide, South Australia, Fremantle, Western Australia, and Burnie, Tasmania.
