THE influential Transport Advisory Committee is angry about apparent moves by the Government to bypass it.
The committee is supposed to advise officials on major transport policies before they are presented to the Executive Council for a decision.
But today, Exco is to discuss the China Motor Bus franchise and the committee has not been briefed on it.
A committee member said questions would be raised at today's monthly meeting over whether the Government was ignoring its role.
The member said Transport Secretary Haider Barma had met members just three hours before announcing details last week of his package to relieve traffic congestion.
Measures include tripling the tolls for the two cross-harbour tunnels and cancelling tax concessions on company cars.
Members were told no details of the CMB franchise, except that some routes would be cut.
