No solution
I THINK the Government is insane in proposing that the Cross Harbour Tunnel toll be increased by $20.
Obviously something is wrong with regard to traffic in the tunnel, but this will not solve the problem of congestion.
Instead of coming up with this dreadful idea, the administration should be trying to find some genuine, long-term solutions.
I would only be willing to accept this $20 increase on two conditions: The Government makes it clear that it is a temporary measure and not a long-term policy. It should set a firm date and pledge to abandon the new measure on that date.
The rush-hour when the new toll is in force should be recognised as being 8.30am to 11am and 4pm to 8pm.
