THE Parochial Schools of St Peter's Church held their joint speech day recently, in the Concert Hall of the Hong Kong Cultural Centre.
In an eloquent address on behalf of fellow graduates, Yang Chung-wah paid tribute to his school and teachers.
'We may not have students from wealthy families; we may not come to school in luxury cars; we may not go for special tuition classes; we may not even be in the top rung of students academically - but we have more important things: a concerned and committed principal, hard-working teachers and a truly loyal school spirit among all of us.
'I am proud to be a student of St Peter's Secondary School,' Chung-wah said.
The chief guest, the Reverend Sister Marie Remedios, Episcopal Delegate for Education, advised the Form Five and Seven graduates to learn to distinguish between right and wrong, keep to the path of virtue, and choose their friends carefully.
At the prize-giving, Zoe Ng Tze-yin, Wong Chi-yan and Chan Yuen-man emerged as the outstanding students.
