I REFER to the letter headlined 'Defying logic' (South China Morning Post, June 16), in which your reader Cheryl Holder complained that she had to queue up three times and spend more than half an hour to post a parcel at Mei Foo Sun Chuen Post Office on a Saturday morning.
We have conducted an investigation into the matter.
Mei Foo Sun Chuen Post Office is not a very busy office and customers can normally be served within 10 minutes as promulgated in our performance pledges.
However, the office was exceptionally busy when Ms Holder went to post her parcel on Saturday, May 27 and this was unfortunately aggravated by the unsatisfactory deployment of staff by the postmaster.
We regret this incident and have counselled the staff concerned.
We have also tendered our apologies to Ms Holder and she was satisfied.
