SINGER Joyce Lee Lok-sze has a soaring imagination - she dreams of flying a helicopter. She used to fancy riding a motorcycle when she was young, but gave up the idea after sitting on a friend's motorbike once.
'As a child in Canada I wanted very much to ride one, but mum wouldn't hear of it. A fortune-teller once told her I might one day suffer a head injury.
'So I've dropped the motorbike idea altogether.' Things did not go smoothly for Hacken Lee during a recent TV shoot. The lighting crew had an accident on the way to the location, and two crew members were taken to hospital. And then there was more trouble - with leaking oil tanks and blocked off roads. Altogether rather frustrating for poor Lee.
TVB holds its annual singing contest on July 16, and the winner will put out his or her debut album in autumn. Two of the eight finalists will be selected to attend a three-month music course in the United States.
