THIRTY-TWO students received the ATV/Tung Wah Student of the Year Award 1994/95 last week at a special presentation ceremony.
Addressing the gathering, Tung Wah chairman Willie Lui said the award honoured Tung Wah secondary and primary students for outstanding academic achievement, good conduct and service to school and community.
Mr Lui praised the year's nominees for their versatility and concern for their families, school, community and environment.
The top student in the secondary school category was Wong Man-wai of Mrs Wu York Yu Memorial College. Man-wai received a scholarship of $4,000 and a trophy. The second and third top students were Yip Pit-chun of Wong Fut Nam College and Wong San-yu of Yau Tze Tin Memorial College respectively.
Form Seven science student Man-wai has shown a record of overall excellence over the past seven years, and was named the school's head prefect.
In 1993, he won the Outstanding Students Award for Tsuen Wan, Kwai Chung and Tsing Yi district.
