SAVERS do not need to deposit six-figure sums to get the millionaire treatment, Hong Kong banks claim.
While they once reserved preferential treatment to customers with millions in US dollars, it is now on offer for sums as low as HK$20,000.
Over the past few weeks, three big banks have stepped up their priority banking services which aim to make banking easier, less time-consuming and provide one-stop financial service centres for wealthier customers.
Standard Chartered first started priority banking in Hong Kong four years ago.
It has added to its package a Visa gold card with the $550 fee waived for the first year; preferential deposit rates; guaranteed overdrafts; and pre-approved mortgages.
Customers need $5 million to use Standard Chartered's priority banking services.
