POLICE in London made a fresh appeal yesterday for witnesses to the mysterious murder of two mainland Chinese men.
After two months, investigations into the deaths of illegal immigrants Fei Lau, 23, and Tao Zhang, 25, have not got very far.
Police believe the pair may have been murdered by a hit man, sent after them because they failed to repay the costs of transporting them to Europe.
Officers think that four Chinese people currently in Britain know who killed them. It is not known where these four are. They may also be illegal immigrants, and are thought to be known only to a small group of Fujian people in Britain.
The bodies of the men were found in a house in Plaistow, east London, two weeks after they were killed.
Police know that a series of illegal immigrants had lived there, but have been able to trace only two, who left before the murders.
