'Jumbo' provides big lift for DHL
DHL International (Hong Kong) is selling sturdy cardboard boxes for air freight shipments of between 10 and 50 kilograms.
DHL's Jumbo Box was ideal for companies following 'just-in-time' manufacturing procedures, said Andy Tseng An-hsiung, Hong Kong general manager.
'The Jumbo Box is for companies which are cutting down on expensive warehousing and producing and shipping on demand from customers,' he said.
'It is made of double-corrugated cardboard which shippers of computer components, electronic equipment, books and clothing will find useful.
'Companies needing air freight for shipments up to 50 kg can call DHL and we will pick up the item, arrange for customs clearance and express deliver it to the door,' he said.
It costs $888 to send Jumbo Box packages up to 25 kg to any Asian destination.
For $1,388, Hong Kong shippers can send 25 kg in an express Jumbo Box to North America or Europe.
