SING PAO PLANNED missile tests by China have affected air routes between Taiwan and Seoul. A Cathay Pacific spokesman says the airline is being forced to re-route its Hong Kong to Seoul flights. The Taiwan government has notified airline companies that they should not fly in an area north of Taiwan between July 21 and July 28.
ECONOMIC JOURNAL PEREGRINE Investment's chairman, Philip Tose, says a plan for the issue of bonds for Consolidated Electric Power Asia (CEPA) has been awarded a credit rating by Standard & Poor's. Peregrine will wait for a rating by Moody's before implementing the issue. CEPA is planning to raise US$500 million through this issue.
SING TAO A FERRY company formed by China Travel and Hong Kong Parkview hopes to expand its market share of the Hong Kong to Macau routes. Its market share is less than 20 per cent and the firm aims to gradually raise its market share to between 25 and 30 per cent, in 18 months.

SING PAO PROPERTY sources say Bess Fashion has reached an agreement with Hang Lung Development, under which the fashion company will rent a ground-floor retail shop, previously occupied by G-2000, at Hollywood Centre, Mongkok. The monthly rent will be $336 per square foot. Property sources reported a Japanese fashion firm, Itokin, reached an agreement with Hang Lung for the rental of a retail shop at the Admiralty Centre, previously occupied by G-2000. The monthly rental for the shop is $380 a sq ft.
