A BARRISTER was yesterday charged with offering bribes to his clients' co-defendant in an attempt to get him take the blame.
David Ma Wai-kwan, 30, and solicitor's clerk Chan Kok-wai, 37, have been jointly charged with attempting to pervert the course of justice.
The charge arises out of an on-going District Court case. It is alleged Sergeant Tam Kin-yuen, 38, Constable Wong Yung-keung and Tam Shing-choi took part in a robbery in a Sheung Wan car park.
The robbery trial will be heard next week.
Yesterday, Western Court was told that Ma, acting for the sergeant and Tam Shing-choi, offered money to Wong's mother between June 12 and 29.
It is alleged he asked that the constable plead guilty to one charge of handling stolen property.
