MAINLAND conglomerate China North Industries Group (Norinco) has applied to list three subsidiaries, president Zhang Junjiu says.
In the process of converting the group from a manufacturer of military equipment to consumer goods, Norinco would bring an additional two A share companies and one B share company to the market.
The group's first B share listing, Shenzhen North Jianshe Motorcycle Co, begins trading in Shenzhen today.
Norinco, which has 157 subsidiaries, applied last year for Changan Compact Car Company to list B shares.
Changan plans to raise 800 million yuan (about HK$730.39 million) to 1 billion yuan by listing 200 to 300 million shares.
Mr Zhang said the company would vie for a slice of last year's US$800 million share issuing quota for companies outside Shanghai and Shenzhen, which had been suspended by the central government due to the poor performance of the B share market.
