LEXMARK has launched software enhancements designed to improve printer access on Novell networks.
The software supports Novell's Directory Services (NDS), Embedded System Technology and the network utility, ManageWise.
Support for NDS is provided with a new version of MarkVision that improves user access to the printers and their configuration information. The new functions instal drivers over Lexmark's MarkNet XL and XLe family of network adapters.
Among the new enhancements is the ability to request print services from any printer on the network.
The full complement of MarkVision and network printer utility features include remote operator panel, alert notification, printer configuration and bi-directional print drivers.
MarkVision will work with Microsoft Windows 3.1 and 3.11 and NetWare 4.x.
