TWO world records set last month by Algerian Noureddine Morceli and another set by Kenyan Moses Kiptanui in June have all been ratified by the International Amateur Athletic Federation.

The IAAF recognised the 2,000 metres time of four minutes, 47.88 seconds set by Morceli in Paris, and his run of 3:27.37 for the 1,500 metres in Nice. The IAAF also recognised Kiptanui's 5,000 metres time of 12:55.30 set in Rome and the junior world 5,000 metre mark of 12:56.15 set by Kenyan Daniel Komen in the same race.
