AN illegal immigrant was jailed for six months yesterday for wounding a fellow inmate in the genitals with a pair of scissors at Tong Fuk Prison. Yim Kin-keung, 27, pleaded guilty to wounding Ng Man-choi, 38, who received a minor cut. He failed to convince Eastern Court magistrate Yung Yiu-wing that he was only playing and had not intended to hurt Ng. Both Ng and Yim were serving terms in the Lantau Island prison for being in Hong Kong illegally. The court heard the two mainlanders had known each other for more than a year and there had not been any known animosity between them. On the morning of May 15, Ng left the workshop for a break and headed for the washroom. He met Yim at the door. The attacker, holding a pair of scissors, told Ng: 'Cut your penis.' Then Yim waved the scissors at Ng, the court heard. He then cut Ng. But Alexis Lee, defending, said his client wanted only to joke with Ng. Mr Yung ordered the sentence to be served consecutively to Yim's present term. He was due to have been released on Saturday.
