THERE'S a show tonight that's truly for the whole family - it's the 'My Beloved Ones Concert', at the Queen Elizabeth Stadium at 8 pm. Tonight's event, which Hit Radio has been planning for a long time, focuses on love, especially parental love. Hit Radio deejay Anna Yau said that hundreds of Hong Kong youngsters studying overseas come home for the summer vacation, and that this was a good time for them to get together with their families. 'A show like this provides a good opportunity for families to enjoy a fun evening together,' Yau said. Guest singers include Pan Mei-shen, Hacken Lee, the band Tai Chi, Eric Suen and Barry Chan. The singers were asked who they ranked as their own 'most beloved'. Hacken Lee said he loved his fans the most. Barry gave his mother first place. Tai Chi band members Patrick Lui and Joey Tang gave their vote to the television comic characters 'Ding Dong' and 'Mighty Robot', while Edde Sink gave the honour to his father. To go with the concert, Hit Radio has arranged some phone-in games for listeners to win tickets for various shows, and a free long-distance telephone service for families in Hong Kong with relatives abroad. Hit Radio launched the games on three programmes: News of the Morning, Air Stewardess Time and Wayne's World. The station has invited listeners to write in to the programmes, and the topics they raise will be discussed by the deejays. Tonight's concert will be broadcast live.
