Thailand makes television history

THAILAND has made history in television broadcasting by becoming the first country to fully implement the Moving Picture Expert Group 2 Digital Video Broadcasting system.

The system, used by the Digital DTH television network, Thai Sky Cable TV (TST) and International Broadcasting Corporation (IBC), is the latest standard for transmitting video and audio signal efficiently. WITH a theme of 'Networking Towards 2000', the annual Hong Kong International Computer Conference takes place at the Convention and Exhibition Centre from September 27-28.
