SOUTH Africa will field three new faces in their challenge for this year's Cathay Pacific/Wharf Holdings Hong Kong International Sixes on September 30-October 1.
Adrian Kuiper, Richard Snell and Dean Laing will make their debuts in a competitive looking outfit for the nine-team tournament at the Kowloon Cricket Club.
The squad will be led by Hansie Cronje, who played in the team which lost in last year's semi-finals to eventual winners England by eight runs.
The other players returning are Jonty Rhodes, Eric Simons and Bradley Player.
'I am delighted that I have been given the opportunity to captain the South African team again,' Cronje said.
'We have a strong side and we will certainly be going for the title.
'I've heard that England are set to win the Gold Bat if they win this year, and with those stakes to play for the tournament will be particularly tough and exciting.' Kuiper is regarded as one of the most explosive batsmen on the Test scene today. He boasts of having hit Australian paceman Craig McDermott for three successive sixes.
