I WATCHED RTHK's Police Magazine, which was screened on ATV Home Channel, at 7pm, on August 12.

In the programme a police officer was trying to advise the public about the proper use of air-guns.
The officer was trying to make the point that air-guns can cause casualties.
I joined the programme at the point where a teenage boy appeared to be shooting at a rat.
The police constable explained that it could be considered that an offence had been committed by a person or persons using an air-gun if they damaged property or caused physical harm.

I was surprised that nothing was mentioned about the cruelty that can be caused to animals like rats, birds, cats and dogs, who often suffer a great deal after being shot by air-guns.
