THE Hong Kong Flower Lounge in San Francisco may be ostentatious, even gaudy. But, says The Guide to the Good Life, it's 'somehow lovable'.

  It is also one of 44 Chinese restaurants listed on San Francisco Bay area's home page on World Wide Web. A useful bit of trivia should you suddenly feel homesick for Cantonese food while visiting the city.

  For strangers to the area, the guide contains interactive location maps, plus sections covering everything from home deliveries in the Waiters on Wheels section, to mini restaurant reviews.

  Browsers can choose restaurants by type or by location. Cuisines covered include seafood, vegetarian, Asian, and, of course, American. The reviews are short but carry vital information such as the best place to avoid fortune cookies, where to eat dim sum at weekends and what one of San Francisco's best Chinese chefs, Philip Lo, is doing at the Tasty Chinese Cuisine restaurant.
