GOLD Peak Industries (Holdings) hopes to gain from an expected growth in the electronics industry by listing its electronics division in Singapore. Chairman and chief executive Victor Lo Chung-wing said the listing of GPE Industries would be made at the end of the year. He expected growth of between 15 and 20 per cent in the electronics division this year and between 10 and 15 per cent over the next three to five years. 'The group believes there will be extensive scope for the electronics division to independently expand its markets and operations,' Mr Lo said. He said the listing meant the division would become an independent business entity with the capability to finance its own expansion. Mr Lo declined to say how much money could be raised, but said the money would be used to finance current expansion plans, which included construction of a factory in Dongguan and a dormitory in Huizhou, Guangdong province. He said GPE would install new production facilities to cope with the anticipated increase in business. The core business of GPE is the development, manufacture and marketing of car electronics, cables and harnesses.
