PARTICIPANTS in a disc jockey contest held at the Academic Community Hall recently have proved that the territory boasts some talented potential DJs. Organised by Ultimate 903 of Commercial Radio, the 'Best DJ Selection' was aimed at scouting new blood for the broadcasting field. The contest, hosted by popular DJs Wyman Wong and Madam Nancy, was divided into two sessions. During the first session, the contestants gave a brief introduction of themselves while displaying their individual styles of expression. The second session was a test of the contestants' verbal and singing skills. Five finalists were selected by a panel of experienced DJs including Yip Hon-leung, Chan Fai-hung, Leung Siu-fai, Tang Kit-ming and Lily Ho. The finalists were asked to conduct interviews with pop stars. They also had a chance to display their talents in a radio play. Two winners emerged after intense competition - Hung Wing-kit and Wong Sau-hang. Artists invited to take part in the contest included Edmond Leung Hon-man, Wu Chien-lian and the pop group, Grasshopper. Highlights of the contest were aired on Ultimate 903 last weekend.
