HILLSIDE squatters were spared landslides yesterday as the weather stabilised after the passage of the typhoon.

Six reports of landslides were received by 4.30 pm yesterday when the Royal Observatory dropped the landslide warning.
Three incidents were on Hong Kong Island and three in the New Territories but there were no injuries.
A tree was brought down as a sheet of mud fell near the junction of Mount Nicholson and Stubbs roads shortly after midnight yesterday, blocking the route for about six hours.
The road was re-opened after 8 am.

The Housing Department has registered 1,500 residents from 392 families living under potential dangerous slopes. So far only 36 households have moved.
