ACER grows

ACER has begun making mother boards at its new factory in the converted former military base at Subic Bay in the Philippines.

The factory has a production target of 100,000 a month by the fourth quarter of this year, a step toward the group's overall target of four million units a year.

Revenues for the Taiwanese industry leader rose by 73 per cent in the first half of 1995, to US$2.36 billion.
