IT took energy. It took courage. It took faith. And it turned out to be a glamorous and festive event for both the participants and spectators.
Over 20 teams from secondary schools took part in the School Lion Dance Competition held earlier this summer and staged impressive performances of the traditional art.
Caritas Chan Chun Ha Prevocational School, Fanling snatched the first prize in the junior category, followed by Baptist Lui Ming Choi Secondary School and Heung To Middle School.
In the Open category, Po Leung Kuk Wu Chung College stole the limelight by capturing first and third prizes, while Buddhist Ho Nam Kam Prevocational School came second.
The young students showed no fear on stage and exhibited plenty of energy and team spirit as they brought the lions to life.
But it was no easy task.
