MANCHESTER United pipped Everton to the points - and went joint-top of the Premier League - with a thrilling 3-2 win at Goodison Park yesterday.
Eight players were booked with the Blues David Unsworth being show the red card in the 80th minute after a foul on Ryan Giggs as Everton chased an equaliser.
Giggs scored United's third goal, after coming on as a substitute for Paul Scholes, Lee Sharpe had put them in front in the eighth minute and added a second four minutes into the second half.
Andres Limpar brought Everton back into the game in the 28th minute and he also had a hand in their second equaliser.
The winger took a free kick and hit the crossbar after United's Gary Pallister had handled outside the area.
Dave Watson had a stab at the rebound before Paul Rideout rifled the ball home from three yards.
Everton lost their former United winger Andrei Kanchelskis in the 13th minute with a dislocated shoulder which will put him out of action for six weeks.
