COMPLAINTS have poured in about Citybus' performance on the 14 Southern and Central district routes it took over on September 1.
District board members say the company put on too few buses to cope with the new school term and failed to keep its promise to provide air-conditioned vehicles.
Old routes had been affected as buses and experienced drivers were moved to those Citybus took over from China Motor Bus (CMB).
The Transport Complaints Unit has been flooded with calls since the changeover.
There were 39 complaints in the week to September 8, compared with 192 for the whole of last year.
The highest number concerned irregular services, followed by longer waiting times and staff misconduct.
Other complaints dealt with passenger services and facilities, overloading and the condition of vehicles.
