TVB International (TVBI) has won approval from Vietnamese authorities to offer video advertising in the country.
TVBI is the international operating and distribution arm of Television Broadcasts Limited (TVB).
TVBI licences TVB programmes in seven language versions to leading terrestrial, satellite and cable television stations and video rental distribution networks around the world.
Following official approval, TVBI became the first foreign-owned broadcaster to be allowed to operate a national advertising medium in Vietnam.
This allows TVBI to accept advertising on all TVB programmes distributed in the video format by Vietnam's Cinema-Video Film Export-Import Co-operation and Distribution Company.
TVB programmes dubbed in Vietnamese are currently available at more than 800 state-run video rental outlets across Vietnam.
