Stanley Mok Yee-cheung, 49, pleaded guilty to attempting to import goods on which false trade descriptions had been used.

The court heard that was contrary to the Trade Description Ordinance which required his Summer Toys firm to mark toys according to where the last process had taken place.

Deputy Judge Tallentire heard on May 1, 1994, Mok was found to have put 'Made in Thailand' labels on 333,000 toy cars worth $400,000.

They were, in fact, all finally assembled at his joint-venture factory in China.
