ACI Software is about to release Windows versions of its highly successful 4th Dimension Macintosh relational database tool.
4D Server offers client/server systems the ability to run either Windows or Macintosh machines.
Another product, 4D 3.5, is a database that runs on both Windows and Macintosh platforms.
'Macintosh and Windows users can now coexist with a single application, which makes development easier and expands opportunities for quick application deployment,' said Derek Austin, ACI's director of Asian operations.
4D will be consistent on both platforms but retain the characteristics of both.
The ability to cater to both Windows and Macintosh machines is not a unique feature; Claris's FileMaker Pro also has a Windows version.
