A CHAUFFEUR who beat up a man he suspected had seduced his girlfriend was sent to a detention centre yesterday.
Chan Chi-ming, 21, punched and kicked the victim, Chan Kin-keung, with other unknown men after they discovered the victim was alone with Chan's girl-friend, Tang Tsui-man, at her home.
Prosecutor Lily Ho told the District Court that in early May last year, Mr Chan Kin-keung got to know Ms Tang through a friend.
On May 31, Ms Tang invited him to visit her home on Tsing Yi Estate.
The victim agreed and arrived at about 1 pm.
About 10 minutes later, Chan Chi-ming and three unknown men entered the flat. Chan told the victim he was Ms Tang's boyfriend and one of the men accused the victim of seducing Ms Tang.
The gang kicked him 10 to 20 times and then took him to a snooker club in Yau Ma Tei, where he was punched and kicked, and beaten with a billiard cue.
