THE Democratic Party yesterday told Financial Secretary Donald Tsang Yam-kuen it would table a private member's bill to drastically cut the number of foreign workers if the Government failed to reduce unemployment.
'We told Mr Tsang that it would be best if the review could be finished as early as possible, so we could hear the solutions in Governor Chris Patten's policy speech in mid-October,' said party spokesman on labour policy, Michael Ho Mun-ka.
'If we're not satisfied with the solutions put forward, we'll be forced to table our own bill,' he said.
