More than 1 billion mobile phone users in China and an information and technology boom in Southeast Asia are driving the need for faster video and download capacity. At the same time, businesses need increased bandwidth to support the exchange of vast amounts of information between datacentres. To help businesses adapt to such trends, Transmode Systems provides packet optical network solutions for fibre optic networks.
Transmode has successfully implemented its solutions into the networks of more than 500 clients worldwide, including leading Asian telecommunications companies. Hutchison Global Communications, for instance, selected Transmode last April to lay the groundwork for a high-volume network in Hong Kong, which will permit Hutchison to offer more products and services.
"Working with Hutchison is a milestone for us in the region," says CEO Karl Thedeen.
Transmode also works with established partners in the Asia-Pacific, including Opnet in Taiwan, Radmik Solutions and VADS in Malaysia and NEC Corporation of Japan.
Having established its footprint in the region with these partners and other customers such as FarEasTone of Taiwan and Fiberail of Malaysia, Transmode will continue to expand in the region.
"We're supplying equipment for the superhighways of the information society," says Ola Elmeland, vice-president for marketing and investor relations. "Those superhighways are built by many kinds of operators that serve different needs."
