I REFER to the article by Gren Manuel headlined, 'Bureaucrats steered towards information superhighway' (Sunday Morning Post, September 3). I applaud the Government's technological/informational advancements by implementing the use of the Internet. In this fast paced era, the availability of information and the ability to communicate are vital for daily affairs. The Internet is the ultimate tool in providing it.
It will allow for quick and convenient access to a broad range of information, covering topics such as the latest government plans, to just about everything we need or want to know about.
It will also allow for better communication and voicing of opinions by citizens. The Internet will also help the Government improve its efficiency by cutting down the time often wasted on waiting for notices to be sent out and responded to. It will also enable more feedback from citizens.
The Government's use of the Internet is a positive step in bettering the territory by improving the cohesion between bureaucrats and citizens, in effect making the Government everyone's business.
