HONG KONG lifestyles as seen through the eyes and lenses of the territory's budding photographers will be on display from today in the South China Morning Post Photo Contest exhibition at Pacific Place. The theme of the contest, open only to amateurs, was Focus on Style, which allowed entrants to capture on film their personal views of the unique aspects of the people, fashions and vitality of Hong Kong. A total of 333 entries were received. Businessman Steve Laue's picture of a woman having her shoes polished in a busy Central lane took the top prize, while Hon Kwok-ching's shrimp paste factory and Wan Chi-lung's shot of the Hong Kong skyline were first and second runners-up respectively. Prizes include Leica cameras, Pacific Place shopping coupons and Kodak films. The exhibition, to be opened today by Post editor Jonathan Fenby, will be at the Park Court until Sunday.
