More boxes . . . Hong Kong is expected to handle about 12 million containers this year, compared with 11.1 million last year. The territory handled 5.86 million teus (20-foot equivalent units) in the first six months, up 14.5 per cent over the same period last year. Kwai Chung container terminals handled 3.87 million teus, an increase of 15.8 per cent. Another 1.43 million teus (up 6.1 per cent) were handled in the harbour and elsewhere, while river trade accounted for 556,638 teus, up 31.1 per cent.
