FOUR anti-triad officers yesterday denied assaulting three undercover colleagues at a police liaison centre on a Chai Wan housing estate.
Sergeant Chui Yuen-tak, 32, and constables Lee Kin-leung, 29, Liu Wai-yin, 26, and Ma Man-kwan, 24, pleaded not guilty to criminal intimidation and assault occasioning bodily harm.
Eastern Court magistrate Yung Yiu-wing, who refused the prosecution's application for a week's adjournment, set their trial for between February 26 and 28 at the same court.
The court was told that on July 30, the four officers allegedly assaulted and threatened two decorators and three colleagues from the Organised Crime and Triad Bureau at the police liaison centre in the newly constructed Lok Hin Terrace.
The undercover police were acting on complaints of protection money being sought from decorators on the estate.
Bail for the four men was continued.
