HONG KONG Open stars Payne Stewart and Sam Torrance are expected to compete in a special skins game in Macau one day after the Fanling tournament. The duo are due to be joined by China's top professional Zhang Lianwei and another golfer in the one-day skins game at the new Macau course on Coloane Island. Stewart and Torrance were both offered attractive financial packages to play in the US$300,000 Hong Kong Open and have the chance to make even more money in Macau. American Stewart, a two-time Major winner, and Scotsman Torrance, vying for the title of Europe's number one player, will be joined in Hong Kong by Argentina's Eduardo Romero. The 41-year-old Romero was ranked 14th on the 1994 European Order of Merit after winning the European Masters and Italian Open. This year he finished fourth in the European Masters and sixth in the Spanish Open. Romero possesses one of the most admired swings on the Tour and is known in Argentina as el Gato, or 'the cat'. Romero's compatriot, Cesar Monasterio, will also be competing in Hong Kong. Both will represent Argentina at the World Cup of Golf at Mission Hills prior to the Hong Kong event.
