A POLICE officer was shot in the thigh with his own revolver after it was snatched by a suspected thief, the High Court heard yesterday. Constable Siu Wai-man collapsed in the OK convenience store in Yuen Long after being shot by the suspect who had allegedly stolen magazines. Ha Kei-fuk, 43, a schizophrenic, pleaded guilty to discharging a firearm with intent to resist arrest on August 6, 1994. After staff stopped Ha, Constable Siu and another officer were called to the scene where Ha grabbed Constable Siu's revolver and shot him. Mr Justice Stuart-Moore adjourned the case until today so reports on his mental state could be obtained.
