DEMAND for executives in the territory saw seasonal drops in the past two months, Executive Leasing Hong Kong principal Alfred Chown says. Overall demand for executive appointments dropped 11 per cent last month, according to the October Executive Leasing Index, the firm's monthly survey of executive vacancies. Mr Chown said the fall was due to the end of the holiday season. He said similar drops were recorded in 1993 and 1994. Demand for engineering executives fell 23 per cent, while Finance appointments dropped 12 per cent. The marketing sector declined by 10 per cent and information technology was down six per cent. Mr Chown said he expected demand for executives to soar next month because the index in all sectors remained higher than in the same period last year. Multinational companies across the border were pushing up demand for executives, he said.
