HOW you wear your hair is as important to your overall image as what you put on your feet. Hair accessories creator Alexandre de Paris has teamed his talents with those of leading French embroiderer Francois Lesage to create a sparkling range of embellishments for the hair. Bows are covered in golden thread and crystal, in the style of the great balls of Venice; or tiny seed pearls are used to encrust silken bows and hairbands. Also worth a look are the short boots from Tanino Crisco. The Italian label is known for its faultless fit and there are some fine pieces in the collection, like the shoe made from a single piece of kid leather so there is almost no visible stitching. Or check out the 'conservative chic' handbags from Trussardi, whose top-selling range remains a favourite. Trussardi designers have started using an unconventional mix of crespo and suede. There are pastel shades like dusty blue, aqua and yellow. Women's handbags cost between $2,500 and $5,000, travel bags up to $8,000, small leather goods between $1,000 and $1,500, and suitcases cost about $12,000.
