CABLE TV reporters found themselves at something of a loss last week when they were invited to an 'on the record' briefing by Correctional Services Commissioner Raymond Lai Ming-kee. Press people came with notebooks, radio journalists with tape recorders and the Cable crowd with . . . each other. Television cameras were forbidden. Maybe Mr Lai was having a bad hair day, but apparently he does not realise that you cannot film a television report of anything without a TV camera. Or was he expecting them to hire actors and do a dramatic reconstruction in the studio?
