Parc Royale demand may spur more sales of units

WHEELOCK Properties says the first batch of apartments at its Parc Royale project at Sha Tin has been five times oversubscribed on the first day of pre-sale registration.

The strong initial response has encouraged the developer to consider offering more units.

Wheelock has offered 60 units in tower eight measuring between 991 and 1,203 square feet at an average price of $3,888 per square foot.

The price was lower than the market expectation of $4,000 to $4,100.

Wheelock Properties managing director Ray Tse Chee-on said: 'As a result of today's enthusiastic response, we are seriously considering offering additional units to the market.' The pre-sale registration will continue until tomorrow at Parc Royale's sales office and Wheelock's office in Central.

The official sale begins on Sunday.

Asia Standard International said yesterday it had begun to hand over units in the first two blocks of its Guangzhou Riviera Garden to buyers last weekend.

The company said tours to Riviera Garden for Hong Kong buyers were being organised for the duration of the handover process.

Units of the completed property were priced from a minimum of $288 per square foot.
