LOCAL cricket will get top flight sponsors from Air New Zealand who will back the Hong Kong Cricket Association's (HKCA) coach education programme.
The programme will develop coaches through the various certified stages. It will lead to scholarships and opportunities for promising coaches to gain experience in Australia and the United Kingdom.
Russ Mawhinney, HKCA director of development, said the programme would ensure that Hong Kong cricket remained abreast of the latest international trends in instruction.
'The effects of this important programme will be seen across the board. When we empower our coaches with knowledge, we are in fact reaching all those players who come into contact with them. We're literally reaching into cricket's future,' he said.
