Junior triathletes all set for Mexico course
EIGHTEEN-year-old triathlete Daniel Lee Che-wo consolidated his position in the Hong Kong junior elite team for next month's World Championships in Cancun, Mexico, with an outstanding performance in the Everyman Triathlon.
Daniel completed the 750 metre swim, 20 kilometre bike and five kilometre run in 1:01.26 for third position overall behind Hong Kong number one Con O'Kelly and Mike Ward.
Joining the Yuen Long Chiu Lut Sau Memorial School pupil in the two-strong junior elite (19 years and under) squad will be Brian Bozarth, a former Asian junior champion.
United States-based Brian is considered a leading contender for the world title following a string of commendable results in international races during the summer.
He has been invited to join top Australian professional Miles Stewart's Elite Training Group in Australia to prepare for Cancun.
Only the leading Australian triathletes and those juniors performing well at professional level have been drafted for the former world champion's training camp.
Jill Fung Ka-man, 18, is the territory's sole woman representative in Cancun.
