Trade set to double

TWO-WAY trade between Vietnam and China is expected to pass US$1 billion this year, more than double the figure for last year.

Vice-Trade Minister Mai Van Dau said in yesterday's Vietnam Investment Review that trade would be mostly in building materials, consumer goods and foods.

Illegal trade across the frontier is believed to amount to about $500 million, mostly in illegal exported rice, coal and steel.
