DEFENDING champions Hong Kong Football Club A remained undefeated in the First Division men's league after whipping Nav Bharat A 5-1 at Happy Valley yesterday for their fourth straight victory.
Nav Bharat packed their defence at the start in a desperate bid to keep off their fearsome rivals who scored nine goals in their last outing against clubmates, Club C.
The Indians kept the Club forwards at bay until the 25th minute when they conceded a penalty corner from which Angus Emmerson scored the only goal in a rather listless first half.
Emmerson notched his double with a dazzling solo effort five minutes into the second period and Manzar Iqbal made it 3-0 for Club only two minutes later after picking up a loose ball from a Nav Bharat clearance.
The Nav Bharat players finally came out of their shell after conceding their third goal and they were rewarded in the 57th minute when Amarjeet Singh scored from a penalty corner.
However, Club kept up the pressure and Adam Vine and Frank Ruckriegel added a goal each to complete the 5-1 rout.
